VirginTech covered the india’s first ever WordCamp that was a two day WordPress conference organised by Delhi Bloggers Bloc (Delhi’s 5 year old community) at Adobe India, Noida. The aim of this conference was to bring together the bloggers and designers of WordPress in India. Lot of bloggers throughout the country including me too attended this mega event.
Two very popular persons from the world of web, Matt Mullenweg(the founder of WordPress.com) and Om Malik (founder of GigaOm.com) were the special guest for this event. Om Malik is a very great, compulsive writer while on the other hand Matt Mullenweg is a revolutionary coder, whose code in the form of WordPress is being used by the millions of bloggers around the world. They both shared their vast experience with the blogging and really we found that very useful.
There were few other great speakers also like Amit agarwal from Digital Inspiration and pavan duggal( a advocate in supreme court of India). Though all the topics covered in this conference were very great but here are some of them which we found very useful:
1: Optimizing Google Ads On Your WordPress Blog + AdSense Alternatives
2: How to get started after installing WordPress
3: Interactive talk – Intellectual property rights/copyrights.
4: Turning your WordPress blog into a business.
5: Interactive talk – the amended India IT act 2000
6: Panel discussion on Will blogs replace mainstream media – US vs India perspective. Panelists – N Madhavan – Assosciate editor, Hindustan Times, Matt Mullenweg, Om Malik
This WordCamp was really amazing and atleast we would be waiting very eagerly for the next one. Hats off to WordPress.
