A speed of 1000 mph and that too on wheels seems almost impossible but it’s possible with Bloodhound supersonic car which is faster than a bullet. Basically Bloodhound SSC is a pencil shaped car, which is powered by a jet engine & a rocket. With it’s highly energetic engine and smart aerodynamic design it is capable of reaching 1000mph [1609Kmph] and that too in just 40 seconds!. This speed would be faster than that of a speeding bullet according to Times Online.
If everything goes well, according to plan than bloodhound SSC can break the land speed record by largest ever margin. The project was announced yesterday, on 23 October 2008 at the Science Museum in London by Lord drayson, the Minister of Science in the UK’s Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills.
Now lets have a look at the thrill that the bloodhound SSC driver will experience: As the bloodhound gains speed beyond 300 mph, driver will experience 2.5G force till it attains 1050 kmph. Again during deacceleration, bloodhound driver will experince 3G force [three times of his bodyweight] which is really something very hard to bear.
