Whenever you search any word or phrase in Google then just below the query field it shows you some search suggestions to make your search easier. That’s what Google Suggest feature is all about. Now a great use of this feature (spotted out by a lifehacker reader alex) is that it can help you in finding great alternatives for a particular software.
Go to Google’s homepage and type in the name of any software (whose alternative you’re looking for) followed by vs. On doing this you will see a list of similar software.
For example, I am looking for photoshop’s substitute (see the screenshot above) therefore I typed Photoshop vs, and just below the search field I got the list of some great photoshop alternatives that includes Gimp, Illustrator, Photoshope elements, Corel Draw, Fireworks etc.
Hope you liked this tip. Don’t forget to drop a line if you have something to say.
