Every single time you start your computer few programs loads automatically called autostart/startup programs. Though windows startup programs are quite useful but still some users might want to get rid of it to decrease the boot time.

To skip these autostart programs there is a very simple trick but it works only in Windows XP. All you need to do is to just press the shift key and that too as soon as windows desktop background appears. Pressing shift key will bypass the automatic loading of the startup programs and therby shortens the boot time of your PC.
